Onomatowhaddya call it?

Thanks to the wonders of movie subtitling, today I learned that in Czech, the world will not be ending with a "fňuk" (whimper), but a "prásk" (bang).

What other language sounds do things make in your country's language?

Is that German for "the sound of silence"?

Onomatopoetish for a rimshot.

Maybe I should have put a smiley after my last comment. Another joke dies in the vacuum of cyberspace...

That's the problem with comments, they evoke that vacuum.

In German comic books, people go "Chchchch" when they snore.

Well, "pang" is "bang" and instead of saying "oink oink" a pig goes "nöff nöff" in Swedish...

In Austria, "bang" is "peng".
A rooster crows "kikeriki".
Pigs go "gruntz gruntz".
And the cow says "muh", pronounced "moo".
