Citizenships II

The other day at work two colleagues and I - N. - were chatting away. C. knows me well, B. doesn't.

C.: "I got a letter that I have to be a lay assessor this year ... *frowns* It's not allowed to say no ... *grins* but when you have important appointments you don't have to go."
B.: *twinkles* "You don't want to fulfill your civil duties?"
C.: *makes a face*
N.: "Thank God, I get around this one ..."
B.: *totally surprised* *???* "You are not an Austrian citizen?"
N.: *smiles* "No. I'm a real Fischkopp (fishhead) from the North." (which is no explanation at all, of course)

I am still wondering why s.b. thinks I could have changed my nationality. Can't be my pronounciation. I still say the German "nee" instead of the Austrian "naa" for "no", use the word "Januar" instead of "Jänner", are neither capable of pronouncing the Viennese "schaass" (=shit) nor "oaaarg" (~that's bad!). In a quiet moment I am going to ask B. why the heck he thought I am a proud owner of the Austrian citizenship.
